About The Tour
Portland’s historic Mississippi District is home to killer live music venues, eclectic shops and galleries, and some of the best restaurants, bars, and food carts in any city – especially if you know where to look. On our walking food tour of Mississippi Avenue, that’s exactly what I’ll show you!
Some of the delicious food & drinks we’ll sample:
- Perfectly cooked egg sandwiches on freshly baked sourdough.
- Locally roasted coffee or craft cocktail (or coffee cocktail!).
- Mouth-watering brioche & cake donuts with seasonal ingredients.
- Deliciously authentic cubanos and sweet plantains with mojitos.
- Melt-in-your-mouth brisket & more from the West Coast’s #1 BBQ spot.
- Tasty and creative alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.

Come Hungry…
You’ll enjoy curated samples of these delicious foods and more, but the portions are decent and add up fast, so bring your appetite! I’ll provide boxes if you want to take some goodies home.
And Thirsty…
Guests who choose alcohol tickets get 2 drinks on the Mississippi Ave food tour. Additional libations can be purchased separately. Most stops also have tasty and unique non-alcoholic beverages.
And Curious.
The food is the star of this tour, but you’ll also learn about historic Mississippi Ave and Portland. This neighborhood is weird and wonderful, and I’ll share some of the most interesting tidbits along the way.
Dietary Restrictions
Portland is renowned for its vegan and vegetarian dining scenes, and most stops on the tour can be tailored to these needs. Just let me know in advance so I can plan your menu.
Gluten-free dining is not recommended for the Mississippi Avenue food tour, but if you’re coming to town and looking for great GF dining options or cideries, just shoot me a message, and I’ll be happy to provide recommendations.
Reviews
The stops were spot on. Aside from being varied, unique and delicious, the rations were perfectly considered to give us a proper taste but not weigh us down. What really sealed the deal? THE VIBE. Danny had in-depth knowledge about each menu and stop, but it never felt like a cheesy tour or overly educational. He is easygoing and funny – one of those people who naturally brings a group together. I was the “single lady” on my tour, and it could have felt awkward, but Danny’s innate gift for hosting brought the group together, and I ended the tour (pleasantly full) with a new group of friends I plan to see when I next visit Portland.
Book this tour. You won’t regret it!”
